SAVE LAKESIDE WOODS

Preserve Lakeside’s precious ecosystems and stave off urbanization of rural communities by Saving Lakeside Woods!

Protect Lakeside's Legacy

Neighbors have joined forces to save Lakeside Woods from development! The 16-acre parcel with 12 acres of healthy wetlands in Lakeside, Michigan, are home to thousands of beneficial species.

The developer of the land submitted a preliminary site plan to the Chikaming Township Planning Commission for which public comments were made on June 5, 2024, to build 18 tiny homes on the property. He graciously gave us the opportunity to purchase the land for conservation instead - giving us 6 months to do it!

Our goal is to raise $1.3 million from the public to purchase the parcel from the developer for conservation - with $300,000 already raised! Once purchased, the land will be gifted to a respected conservation organization that permanently preserves Southwest Michigan's green spaces.
