About Lakeside Neighbors Against Development (LAND)

Neighbors in Lakeside, Chikaming Township and Harbor Country who care deeply for preservation of green spaces have united to stave off a development next to fragile wetlands that are home to native Michigan and rare wetland species, including the endangered Indiana bat.

Protecting natural surroundings and stopping overdevelopment in our Lakeside community that leads to congestion, density, and the urbanization of rural communities, are our key goals. LAND was founded in 2024 to oppose a proposed 18 tiny-home development within a wetland on Lakeside Road in Lakeside, Michigan, known as Lakeside Woods. LAND has submitted its exemption application to be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization under the Internal Revenue Service committed to maintaining high standards of governance and ethical conduct in all aspects of its work.
